ESR12, Panagiotis Gallis presented a short paper titled “Development and Validation of a 0-D/1-D Model to Evaluate Pulsating Conditions from a Constant Volume Combustor” at the Joint Meeting of International Workshop on Detonation for Propulsion (IWDP) and International Constant Volume and Detonation Combustion Workshop (ICVDCW) at TU Berlin.
The work is focused on the 0D/1D simulation of the peculiar Constant Volume Combustor developed by Pprime Institute aiming at evaluating the fluctuating stagnation conditions after the chamber. These results will be employed for the 3D-URANS CFD numerical analysis of the exhaust section and will pave the way for a re-design of the transition duct able to appropriately feed a subsequent High – Pressure Turbine Stage.
